Umbilical cord care.. After..?

Just wondering if there are any guidelines for care for AFTER the cord falls off.. My baby is 11 days old and her stump fell off last night; a bit of stuff is left over in her bellyon and am not sure what to do with her.. Special care, or just keep about my regular routines?? Do I need to clean it out?
