Please help, all intuitive people out there! Do I have a chance with this guy?

Three months ago, I went out with a guy whom I really, really liked. Most of the way through this date, though, he told me that he was in a complicated situation. He is from Germany, he is in the process of moving here; he spends 3 months there, and three months here. But, he has a girlfriend of 9 years back in Germany. She is a pediatritian; she does not want to move because she cannot practice here. it sounds like they have been arguing; he wants to stay here permanently. I was empathetic but told him it sounded like he had some stuff to figure out. I told him it would be hard for me to respect him if he started something with me before ending it with her. He seemed confused; he said he was very drawn to me, but his girlfriend was special, too; the one thing he felt sure about was wanting to stay in the states.
