How do I find out all these internet settings on my notebook?

Hi, I actually was the one who posted a question about my made in china laptop like 20 min ago. I can't seem to find a model and make on the laptop itself. When I turn it around all it says is Made in China DC RATING 9V, 1.5A and RoHS. When I turn on the laptop it says Wireless Book. I'm trying to connect to the internet at home but I don't know how. On the box that the laptop came in all it says is WiFi Internet so im not sure if that means only wife but not home internet. please help me. I read something about ethernet but what ethernet and can that help me? I don't know how to find these internet setting on this cheap computer. the setting and options are vey limited. Whats an ethernet cable and network? Can home routers use either type of connection? How do I turn on the wifi and register to my access point? Whats a CatV wire and how do I plug it into my router? These are all things people told me to do but I don't know how to do it or what it means. I don't even have the wifi symbol located on my laptop like the one that lights up when your connected or whatever. please help!
