Yao Ming will likely miss 2009-2010 season?

I read on espn.com that there is a big chance he might never play basketball again, but i think he will come back after a year or two. I feel really bad about this because the rockets are going to have a hard season without him. They just got Trevor Ariza and they still have a good team, I was expecting them to win this coming years NBA championship but because Yao isnt going to play it hurt there chances alot.
