You are quite correct. The corrupt former Clinton staffers at Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were pushing for more profits and therefore bigger bonuses when they were "handed" a loaded deck by congress for mandating lousy loans by the other banks. Fannie and Freddie guaranteed that they would by these lousy loans therefore putting the taxpayer on the hook for all of the debt. Why some of these congressmen still have jobs is beyond me. The former leaders of Fannie and Freddie should be cell mates with Bernie Madoff. Feingold, Frank, and Dodd should be in there too.
