Has anybody ever used Accutane for acne?

I have a good amount of acne on my face, and some on my shoulders. My mom and dermatologist both think that I should start taking Accutane. Does anyone know, preferably someone who has used the product, know if there are any side effects other than depression and such? and I would always like to know if bloodwork hurts? thank you!
