Birth control recommendations...?

i'm currently on the depo shot and i have been on it for just over 4 years. i started it because i had too many side affects from the "ortho tri-cyclin" pill. i think that the shot works really good but my family doctor recommends that i ask my gynocologist to put me on a different type of birth control because the shot depletes calcium so bad. well, i was just wondering what some of the women out there would recommend. i've looked into the IUD method but i wasn't sure exactly how it works. i guess i just don't understand the string thing. and, when i am having with my boyfriend, will either of us be able to feel it? i was wondering about the same thing with the l ring. does anyone out there take the "yaz" pill? i've seen the commercials and i was just wondering about it. i know that i'll probably have a period if i get off of the shot (bummer) but that's fine i guess, as long as i'm protected. i was just wondering what women out there recommend.
