Am I a clingy, needy girlfriend?

People say I am a needy, clingy girlfriend. I don't know how to be otherwise. I didn't think I was needy, but everyone says I am, except for my boyfriend, but he might just be sparing my feelings. I don't expect him to buy things for me and all that, that isn't the type of needy I am, but I get worried and upset if he doesn't contact me and stuff. He doesn't have a cell phone, so I can't text him, so we send emails once/twice a day on the computer. But I will get upset if he doesn't email me one day. We are coworkers, and aside from seeing him around the workplace a bit (not really talking, because our jobs don't really coincide) I only see him once to twice a week outside of the workplace. Am I clingy? I told him last night that I don't like the idea of having no contact at all from one day to the next. Is that too much to ask?
